How To Reset A Google Home Mini (2022)

How to reset a google home mini. When your Google Home Mini stops responding to your commands or stops responding to your voice commands, it’s time to do a reset. It simply takes a few minutes to complete the process, and your device will work as if it were brand new.

The Google Mini speakers, which include the first-generation Google Home Mini and the second-generation Google Nest Mini, are puck-shaped smart speakers with a cute design. Because of its inexpensive price, you could probably put one in every room of your house if you wanted to.

However, if you’re having problems with your Google Mini – whether it won’t connect to Wi-Fi or won’t play music – or if you’re planning to give it away, you may need to reset it. This restores the speaker to its factory settings.

Resetting a Google Mini in this manner will erase all of your personal and Google account information, as well as any settings you’ve altered, allowing you to start afresh.

The Google Mini comes in two models, and how you reset your speaker depends on which one you have. Flip your Mini over to identify it. If you see a slot for a wall-mounting screw, you have a second-generation Nest Mini. If you don’t, you’re using an older Home Mini.

You’ll need to use a slightly different approach because the second-generation model doesn’t have a factory reset button on the bottom.

Step 1. You should see a microphone on/off switch on the side of your device. Then, switch that to the off position. The LED lights will pulse orange.

Step 2. Your device will begin the factory reset process automatically after around five seconds. Hold the position for around 10 seconds. After that, you should hear a chime, signifying that the reset is complete.

Rebooting Your Google Home Mini

You should try to reboot your Mini before factory resetting it and deleting all of your personal data and settings.

Step 1. Start by unplugging the device and waiting one minute before plugging it back in.

Step 2. You can also use the Google Home app for iOS or Android. And go to Settings > Device Settings, press three dots, and reboot.
